It's all change in the ground-floor Internet Cafe at 96 Shenley Road because the classic film stills have been replaced by EastEnders photos and posters. And the second picture shows Jane Beale’s dress, which she wore to marry Ian in the live episode in February, in the foyer display case. An excellent prelude for a visit to the Museum on the second floor to see our new EastEnders Exhibition

The magnificent original Victorian Bridge (see earlier Blog entry) has now been demolished and replaced by this :

Robinson’s Bridge runs from Red Road into the park and is currently being rebuilt. Rumour has it that it’s "too low" for the "new trains", and it will be out of use until October. A classic red brick structure, it was built in 1868 at the behest of Henry Robinson. He lived at Barham House in what’s now Allum Lane and he owned the land through which the Midland railway wanted to run from London to Sheffield. So they built him a nice wide bridge to keep his property joined up, and we have benefited ever since. What a shame this fine structure and landmark will be disappearing.
Look out for more photos from the rebuild in the future
