The College

The original building was in Elstree Way in the 1970s. At first it was called the South Herts College of Further Education, then changed its name to De Havilland College when it became part of Hertfordshire University. After that it became Elstree University Technical College (EUTC), and finally Elstree Screen Arts Academy in September 2013.  At this point it entered new premises on Elstree Way and took in students from age fourteen. The UTC specialises in behind-the-scenes media production, digital communications and entertainment technologies with a curriculum that is designed to ensure strong foundations in fundamental academic subjects and build on these with vocational, expressive and industry relevant studies.  In 2017 it had 332 students.
